"Ultimately
having confidence
in liberty is really
about having
confidence in
people.
Confidence that
people will do
what is right when
given the
opportunity."

Speech at Olmsted
County Convention
What is Principled Practical Progress?

I understand that good ideas do not always make good laws. Principled Practical Progress is the foundation I will use to guide my decision-making as a representative, and it is also a commitment I make to the people of 30A.

Step 1: Principled
I will first use the principles of personal liberty and the power of the free market to guide my decisions first. I believe in putting people-- not government-- in charge of the property and money.

Step 2: Practical
I will make sure that any measures that the government takes are practical in implementation, do not mortgage our future, and will not result in growth in spending. I will use my practical experience as a business and property owner to only spend within our means .

Step 3: Progress
Reducing spending, better tax policies, and better value in health care and education are specific areas where we need to make progress. I will make sure that we are making true progress in the right direction, and not just going through the motions without effecting change.
